Currently, rumors are already circulating about the Galaxy S21 and its variants. And among these, there is an info that these devices could be released in January, while traditionally the new high-end smartphones from Samsung are released in February.
Recently, Samsung even almost confirmed these rumors. As reported by our colleagues from Sammobile, a representative of the company was recently questioned about these rumors by a Korean media.
He replied that with the constant evolution of the smartphone market, Samsung's traditions are not immune to possible changes. The employee did not specifically mention the Galaxy S21, however. And he has not confirmed that the launch of this model will be ahead of the usual schedule.
Currently, a date is already circulating. Samsung would present the Galaxy S21 and its variants on January 14 . Then, the launch of these devices would be on January 29.
But why would Samsung want to bring forward the launch of its new high-end smartphones? This could be a way to gain new momentum as quickly as possible, after a chaotic 2020 due to COVID-19.
In addition, bringing forward the launch of the Galaxy S21 and its variants would also allow the Korean giant to offer its iPhone 12 competitors more quickly, while many indicators suggest that Apple will make excellent sales.
A new design for the back and a processor engraved in 5 nm?
According to the images that have leaked online, the Galaxy S21 should have a facade almost identical to that of the Galaxy S20, with a borderless screen and a pierced bubble for the front camera. On the other hand, for the back, Samsung would have imagined a more discreet camera module.
Otherwise, the manufacturer would also have improved the camera module of the Galaxy S21 Ultra compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S20, by introducing a fifth sensor.
But most importantly, the Galaxy S21 and its variants should benefit from a generation of processors that will allow these devices to have better performance, but above all to compete with Apple's A14 Bionic processor.
A priori, the high-end Android smartphones of 2021, including the Galaxy S21, should benefit from processors engraved in 5 nm like that of Apple. This technology will boost performance, but also energy efficiency.
