An iPad Pro with a Mini-LED screen in 2021?

This is more precise for Apple's Mini-LED screens. According to rumors, the next iPad Pro should be the first devices to use this new technology. But the firm also plans to use Mini-LED screens on computers.

iPad Pro 2020

For iPad enthusiasts, Apple offers four models this year. As a reminder, in March, the Cupertino company lifted the veil on an 11-inch iPad Pro and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro . And recently, during his keynote September 15, it has also presented an iPad 8 th generation and a new iPad Air (which is the first device using the processor A14 Bionic , engraved 5 nm).

At the same time, rumors are already circulating about the next iPad Pro that the Cupertino company will release next year. And one of those rumors concerns the screen that these tablets will use. According to an article published by the Macromers site, the screens of the next iPad Pro would be Mini-LED screens.

Apple would soon launch production of its Mini-LED screens

Compared to LCD screens that are currently used by iPads, Mini-LED screens should allow for better contrasts, better responsiveness, as well as better energy efficiency. Apple's interest in this technology has been mentioned in the media for a while.

And according to Macromers, who relays a note that would have been published by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has made significant progress. Henceforth, the Cupertino company would no longer be in the technology development phase, but rather in a phase of "economy of scale".

Moreover, the site indicates that the mass production of these screens could begin before the end of the year. And the first screens produced would be intended for the next generation of iPad Pro. But then Apple should switch to this type of screen for other iPad models, as well as its MacBook.

According to rumors, at least six iPads and Macs equipped with Mini-LED screens could be launched before the end of the year 2021. And little by little, the cost of this type of screen could also drop, thanks to competition between different providers. Thus, analyst Kuo would predict that these costs would fall by 50% in 2021, then by 35% in 2022.

MacBook with Apple processors and Mini-LED screens?

These rumors also give us a better idea of the evolution that the next MacBook may have. As a reminder, this year, the Cupertino company started its transition from Intel processors to Apple Silicon processors . This should allow Apple to offer computers that are both more efficient and less energy intensive.

And obviously, in addition to using Apple Silicon processors, the next MacBook's could also switch to a new type of screen which, in addition to being more efficient, will also extend battery life. But of course, for the moment, this information should still be viewed with extreme caution.
